Hi guys,

today the second B-1 Unit box “Pork Sliced Cooked with Juices”.

The list of contents:

Accessory Packet
Spoon
Peanut Butter
B-1 Unit Crackers Candy
Pork Slices, with Juices
Applesauce

The “Applesauce” and the “Pork” cans are leaking :( . The Applesauce was nearly black, but the smell was “fresh”. The different conditions of all Applesauce cans from the case are really interesting :?: !

See you next week with the last two boxes of my “treasure” (I hope that meanwhile that topic hasn’t become boring!)

Gee that pork reminds me of people. It shrinks as it gets older :)
I had some applesauce last week that looked almost as dark ... but it was some sort of berry flavored applesauce. ;)

Thanks for sharing all these MCI pictures it brings back a lot of memories/nightmares.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go have a "flashback" ...

Hi there,

Don't worry MREheater, It's not boring at all. I'm looking foreward to see more.
It's definately a great pack of rations. Keep up the good work.

Hi guys,

today the second last B-1Unit box “Tuna Fish”; it’s also the second last box of the whole case!

The list of contents:

Accessory Packet
Spoon
Peanut Butter
B-1 Unit Crackers Candy
Tuna
Fruit Cocktail

The condition of the “Tuna” was amazing :D ! It smelled and looked like fresh! I think the oil in the can is good for conservation! The “Fruit Cocktail” can was leaking, but the condition of the fruits was pretty good!

Tuna packed in oil does indeed prolong the shelf life and it's flavor, though people seem to prefer tuna packed in water (brine) these days. Nevertheless, I don't think it was intended to preserve the tuna for as long as it did, but it obviously did the job.

Many thanks for sharing all the great pictures of your case of MCIs.

Hi guys,

today the last B-1 Unit box “Beef with Spiced Sauce”; it’s also the final box of my treasure :( !

The list of contents:

Accessory Packet
Spoon
Peanut Butter
B-1 Unit Crackers Candy
Beef with Spiced Sauce
Halved Apricots

The “Beef with Spiced Sauce” looks terrible, not really appetizing!
The “Halved Apricots” can was inflated and leaking, the colour of the fruit has changed to dark!

Result:
After opening one box after the other, seeing all the damages of the cans and card boxes, I was a little bit disappointed :( . All boxes which contain fruit entrees are in a really bad condition; consequently the B-2 Unit boxes without fruit had the best condition.

I wonder :?: whether there is only one original packed MCI-case all over the world, in which all cans are without any damage: I think this could be possible, when it was stored nearly to 0° C (32 ° Fahrenheit) over the whole time since producing.

So long mcieater72 :D
