SNICKERS CAKE -![]()
I had to protect (hide) it from th rest of my family...

Wouldn't that be a great way to fight off the cold, and maintain morale?

I've never even heard of these!
The important thing is the spices.

Re: Tray Rations
Bump!
As mentioned elsewhere, currently there's some good poly tray deals available at TheEpicenter and CheaperThanDirt.
There's been a lot of reviews over the years (this thread being the longest), so I'd appreciate some quick thumbs up/down/"meh" for the currently available varieties.
I'm particularly wondering about the "Creamy Gravy With Pork" because it's one of three on sale for $6 each (in packs of 2) at CTD (all marked with asterisks).
CheaperThanDirt:
Turkey Sausage Links In Brine
** Cooked White Rice
Chili With Beans
** ** ** Creamy Gravy With Pork
** Chicken Breast In Gravy
Beef with Creamy Gravy
Pork Carnitas
Cream Gravy with Ground Beef

Non-tray, graphics suite question:
Also, um, what's the current thinking on the most recent versions of Paint Shop Pro?
I lost my copy in the flood of 2008, and could really use something better than Paint and 16-bit WinGif (and a few homebrew tools, which I've been adding to as my frustration with Paint/etc continues).
I mostly do cropping, and batch format conversions, but occasionally want to do layers and transparent stuff. Nothing heavy duty.

Re: Tray Rations
I have tried a few of those large tray brownie/ cake type trays that come in foil/plastic. These were part of the UGR A. We had a soldier who used to take the whole tray from the cooks and bring it back to the vehicle and we would all share it, I would always end up with "chocolate overdose!". They were pretty good as long as you only ate a small amount, really really sweet! Otis Spunkmeyer also supplied frozen cookies for the UGR A rations too again super sugar!
About the meat/veg/side type poly trays of the UGR H+S or Express, personally I never really liked them at all. They always tasted like crap to me even the Spaghetti + mac and cheese ones. I always figured they would taste like the MRE counterparts this was not my experience though, to me they always tasted very different very poor quality, lots of fat floating around the meat was just plain weird tasting. Cheese always tasted really fake like rubber... To each his own though I do really like the tray ration desserts!

Re: Tray Rations
Turtle - I highly suggest you check out pixlr.com - a free web-based photoshop style image editor. I use it all the time for quick edits - it has everything you'd expect from PaintShopPro or CorelDraw, and almost everything you could find in PhotoShop. It can save in dozens of formats, locally and via online image hosting services.TurtleNomad wrote: Non-tray, graphics suite question:
