...Not so fast, FDSMAN ! I ordered from MRE Depot, two cases of menu C, on 11-6-08. I got them on Monday the tenth and they were the same case numbers as wstrnsky has. Unfortunately, I didn't find this site and this thread before I ordered. Mr. Cyros emailed me 11/6 and never said a word about the menu substitutions, or the missing items in his message. Nor does the website contain a warning of such. In fact, it still says that there will be no substitutions.
..So I openned my menu #1 and found pretty much the same as wstrnsky did...missing and substitutions. I'm writing a letter to Mr. Cyros now. In October he said in this thread he would pull the product until he got the problem sorted out. That didn't happen

Thanks for the update Dave, and sorry to hear the bad news. I was looking forward to ordering some Menu C MREs here soon, but I guess I should continue to wait. Civilian MREs are usually marketed under survival or emergency food. Survival goods should be dependable.

That's pretty disappointing to hear, Dave D. but thanks for the update. I guess I'm going to have to put a warning notice on the Menu C webpage here so people will be careful when ordering. Well, at least who might read my web page here before heading over to the mredepot.com site to order.

...Mind you I'm not going to send 'em back. I'm going to request some adjustment, but vendors who provide such quick and sure service are too precious to lose. If I can get some from MRE Depot that are what the menu says, I'll buy more. I ordered other food from their menu and got it promptly and accurately. Had I not found this forum, Id never have known of the discrepancy. Imagine my surprise when I used 'em in the future! I'd a been one tight turkey.

I really don't know what to say, is this because you think he wants to rip us off by not telling us about the contents? Or is it maybe a lack of an update because he simply forgot?

I don't think he would go through all that trouble of making an account, and personally handling these cases of unsatisfied customers just to grab someone's money and run. I think it is a problem with the manufacturer that maybe Steve has no control over, and he might as well say hold off on purchases, I'm just going to have to hold onto these cases of Subpar MREs. I can see where the guy is coming from, but I can also see where you are coming from as a dissatisfied customer. I suppose for the time being we are stuck between a rock and a hard place regarding Menu C MREs.

A refund? How about a free case of MREs?

I can see a YouTube Hitler video coming out on this issue...:)

JFK has been in business a long time.

Maybe it's my nature but I tried every nicety there is to try to persuade a resolution when a problem arose. Maybe it's something I ordered and never got or some service that was not received like my internet.

Nothings ever worked.

The only way to get satisfaction is put them on notice:
Don't hesitate to use the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint or your State's Attorney General if the company is not responding to your inquiries. Chances are anyway you'll be talking to a trained monkey behind a desk. So don't hesitate to exercise your rights as a consumer. Check your States website for more consumer related information.

...Wstrnsky, No, no resolution yet. I wrote to MRE Depot owner, Mr Steven Cyros, on the back of the receipt that came with the MRE's and explained the problem in detail, as well as suggesting a solution : He'd throw in a package of 12 MRE heaters ( value : $8 ) to cover the missing items in the two cases of MRE's he sent me and I would buy an additional case of MRE's ( one with the original menu items and nothing missing ) so he would not be out the cost of shipping my compensating pkg of MRE heaters but could send it with the new order. My letter went out on the 19th, a week ago. San Clemente is down state, my order only took 3 days to get here, so it's reasonable to think that my letter had arrived there by the 21st, or 22nd. I expect an answer any day, either by snail mail or via email.
..In California there are alternatives. I paid by credit card and can dispute the charge. I purchased several hundred dollars worth of merchandise from MRE Depot and everything but the MRE's was delivered as ordered. I'm not at all unhappy with what I got, just with what I didn't get. It's not like I don't have the evidence at hand. Also, I can sue the company in small claims court. Neither of these is my desire, but I can. What I don't want is to send anything back, and I told him that.
...So the ball is in Mr. Cyros' court. After his detailed mia culpa in this thread, I'd have thought he would have monitored this website and made good on those whom he stiffed. I would have operated that way. I'll keep the forum advised as to how it goes.
