I think the Italian could easily win the gold medal if they wanted but their ration doesn't seem to represent what they actualy can do.
Aaaaah, I had my weekend morning scrambled eggs, fried bacon ...and baked beans, a commercial brand but they taste just like the 24h rat ones

The US MRE Ration tops all other (NATO) rations, easily. Everything else is just a cool novelty for us armchair commando's. However, I think the IMP is 2nd. The British 24 hr. pack third. The Germans have the whole interesting meals, but lack of variety. The French stuff is very good, but all commercial. The French do have the variety thing going on, unlike the Germans. When German soldiers in the field want something to eat, they just go to the locals, and buy a jar of blutwurst and a loaf of bread, generally speaking.

I had to vote for RCIRs, but mostly because I love pate. It's just one of my favorite things, and most of them have some sort of pate in them. MREs would be easily second, they're familiar, the desserts kick ass, and the sides are mostly good.

Big Mark, the Germans got beerwurst, liver pate, etc. I heard the French are coming out with a new pate. Called Silly Pate. You can eat it, bounce it off the floor, and copy your favorite cartoons off the newspaper with it.(Ref. Movie, Amazon Women on the Moon).

True, but having had an EPA and an RCIR, I'm voting RCIR. I don't like the German bread, and that pate isn't quite the same on a spoon.

Funny, I hate the French crackers (quite tasteless) and I love the German rye bread (vegetable crackers in the MRE and British Brown biscuits too).
