Thank you for the pictures and the job you made @kman

Great reply of the civilian MRE.

But i am surprised of the high price of them. In germany they want at ebay 65$ in the byitknow option, for original MRE.

best regards

Salt Water FRH

Post by dverkamp » Wed Feb 21, 2007 11:26 am

I have tried adding regular water to the Salt Water FRH. As Kman stated, all you get is a cold soggy heater. I believe the FRH is activated by the chemical reaction between the salt, water, and magnesium.

Yes, they're pretty much the same. The only thing really different is that the entree boxes have "aPack" stamped on them - but other than that, it's the same packaging, pouch, etc.

I haven't actually seen the "Chicken w/ Black Beans & Rice" entree before but it tasted excellent.

I wonder what the salt concentration in those water packets is, and accordingly what the freezing temp. would be? It would suck to not be able to heat my food because the stupid water packet is solid!
