This is a classic.
A seriously advanced ration, made for the original 10th Mountain Division. Axed because of cost.
The Wiki entry on "Mountain Ration" has an intelligent discussion on the politics and nutritional implications of this bad NATICK decision.

Spam and dehydrated baked beans menu 2? 1943 - note the high carb stuff, loads of primitive energy bars too.

The condensed milk is still popular amongst older people, there are more brands that still market it (friese vlag, campina, milsani in the netherlands)

I like the Biscuits, Brown, S.. but I'd also like to try 1 pack with the fruit filling.. never ever had one of them.. we only get the greenpacks..

The tast is "acceptable" but they actually taste good when theyre dipped in the belgian apple sirup or strawberry/cherry/apricot jelly(confiture?) that's in the Dutch 24h pack. Or with some civil "smeerkaas" (cheesespread/schmelzkäse)
Sure, someone may one day kill me with my own gun.
But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
