So fnbrowning, did he reply to you with a hearty...F...OFF?

I am sure his response to you was not very cordial to say the least. I like you am also pissed off at how these people try to screw you on the shipping cost. Too bad ebay does not truly do anything about it. They should put some kind of "cap" on shipping but they are making billions, what do they care.

Thanks for the welcome, DIRTYDAVE. Image

Our eBay buddy is claiming that these '95 MREs weigh 21 lbs. Huh :?:
I weighed a 1999 box a few weeks ago and I got <16 pounds.
How can '95 MRE's weigh more?

He sez he's charging a flat rate of $20.00 to cover shipping cost and "materials." :?: He looked at other auction shipping cost for these and $20.00 was about what everyone else was charging to ship.

He also sez he's "willing to lower the reserve to 21.00 a case."
Also sez "The test date on the most of the MRE'S is 1995, and I have a few cases that are test dated 1994."

Mid '90's MRE boxes don't have a "test" date, do they? That's the actual manufacture date, right?

As my friend Bugs would say, "what a maroon"
Gonna have some more fun with him when you guys have a chance to post.

Pretty much all the MREs back to 1981 have a "date packed" and an "inspect date". So it sounds like these MREs aren't really 1995 MREs but are 1992 MREs. Hmmm...that certainly changes things. Definitely not worth $20 - might even have to rethink $15.

Is that 1995 MRE aucition still open? I'd like to watch what happens.

Also, to see if he gets no bidders and has to drop the opening bid.

Yes, it's still open. Looks like there's one bidder so far at $5 but the reserve hasn't been hit yet.

Well, he's had the same picture (of a case of old 1980's MREs) for a couple of listings. One was for a case...the other was for individuals . . . I think.

Uggh. Just the thought of paying good money for old Chicken Ala King...

Unless I,m mistaken..and i have been before..
..Look at the bid history.
the same bidder who put up the high bid outbid himself earlier.
Seems Strange.
My best guess is buyer with/alternate ebay nick or buddy jacking up the price.
Could i be wrong about this???

at any rate..bad buy :(
