I guess it´s still that "exotic thing". You like/want what you don´t have or can´t get.

We (the East Germans) had the Russians over here for 40 years. They are fed up with them. We South-West Germans had US troops over here since 1945 and still like them. Every GI was an ambassador of amercian way of life, the music, the food, mentality...

So America is still an idol to many people over here! More than the eastern countries with their (violent, whole day vodka trinking) mentality.

I´ve been in the States and will come again for sure. I really loved it :D

"Richtig mein kamarad housil..." :D

Here we consider "exotic",rare and interesting what we didn't have specially things from the"Red menace" and its soviet bloc countries.

You could see here the thousands that collect soviet memorabilia, they have people reenacting different soviet units. Even now they collect the AK-47's and all of its familly of ak's type rifles like crazy!!!!

Since I was a kid I always looked for Europa, specially Germany and the Soviet Union. The first one because of the stories of my grandfather and the second one because of my educational background and because they use to tell us they are "bad"......

By the way jubi...nice volkswagen...what year is it??? I have one a 1964 1300 VW made in Germany all in its original condition. The only thing I did was an upgrade to 12 volts since originally was 6volts and a lil' retouch in the painting. I is "sahara beige" like the color used by the AfrikaKorps.... :D
The "beetles" made in the US were not as good as the german made.... :?

Peace!!!
