Everything is allright!

The TTI:

shows a red center if MRE´s are stored well. The dark "ring" is just a reference!

Read at Naticks homepage:

Each TTI consists of an outer reference ring and an inner circle. The inner circle darkens with time, and darkens more quickly as the temperature increases. The quality of food products is very dependent on the time and temperature of storage — so the darker the circle, the less fresh the food.

if the inner circle is red then you should be okay honeybun. as the inner circle darkens it indicates heat stress.

Hey Maw, breakout them dollar store vienna sausages you bought for supper. Ma new found buddies on this here forum said our MRE meals is AOK so we gonna save them for when the hard times get here.

housil:

B.P. checked, 120/80--B.M. contained (in ma drawers)-- :)

bishopmarine:

Yep, they red alright, and stored in the coldest room of the home-20.

Hey back Bypah:

I'm one happy survivor. Got me some fresh "hard times" food. The weather forecastors and scientists are saying that hurricane activity will increase and become more powerful in the future. They say global warming is the blame. That makes sense because hurricanes thrive on the hot waters of the ocean. 8)

Thx for the help guys, I love this forum--hb--

Sorry for the confusion, hb. When you first said they were red inside and out, I was thinking they were the same dark red inside and out and that meant they were heat-busted. But now it sounds like they might look like the "Initial" picture that housil posted above so it sounds like you're ok.

First you're good, then bad, now back to good. Aren't we a great help here! :-)

Those good ol' vienna sausages with saltine crackers and a cup of hot cocoa or coffee with some evaporated milk....priceless hurricane food!!!! yummmmmm.....

Vienna sausages and: 1)crackers or bread, 2)with rice white or mixed in it!!, 3)in a stew, 4)fried, 5)mashed n' mixed with garlic powder n' mayo.
For breakfast, snack, lunch or dinner....hmmmmmmmm!!!!! The imagination is the limit and "necesity is the mother of inventions".... :D :D :D :D :D

Like SPAM,potted meat and corned beef in a can, vienna sausages are the the main survival foods when a hurricane hits...!!!!! 8)

Peace!!!

Thats understandable, 'cause sometimes us cajuns get real excited when we talk and say things in a way that normal talking people kinda find it hard to understand. Know what I mean?

And the answer is YES, you guys are GREAT and very informative. Happier than a blood tick in a hound dogs ear on a winter morning I am, for finding this here forum-- :)

Bypah:--Uh huh, them viennas ain't half bad, and the spam dude. Did ya ever slice it about a half inch thick and fry it in a 'lil bit of oil till it got crusty brown? Take it out of the skillet and cut up an onion and a piece of bell pepper and let it fry up in the skillet till it wilts a bit. While thats happening slice up a 'mato and paint ya bread a good coating of mayo. Now, build that sandwich like its ya last meal, put the cat out, lock the door, grease ya lips and get to it.

Always use up the viennas, potted meat, and spam before the MRE's because those "peel top" cans will lose their seal pretty quick 8)

I'll be back--hb--

Nice string(s) a blues ya got there. Oh, you mention rice often and on your last post boiled 'tators. You have weathered the Caribbean hurricanes and looks like you hang your hat in Oklahoma now.

By any chance would you have some cajun blood running thru ya veins? Its the liking of rice dude, if not cajun then surely you spent some quality living time in Louisiana.

I ain't nosey, but am curious as a pet coon-- :)

lol...hb
I was born and raised in the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico and yes I do like rice a lot!!!! :D :D
I was raised with it. :) Rice is the main food in the Caribbean. We do like our rice in many ways.Potatoes are good also but they are not as mainstream as rice, but when you don't have one you use the other... :D

Those "blues " are found in the mangrooves around the coastline. Also you can raise them. They are mostly land crabs not like their sea cousins the real blue crabs....

Take care!
Peace!!
