In the NATICK PAM 30-25, 5th edition from April 2002, side 4, article “Comments” you can find the following information: “Replacement of the H&S metal tray can with the polymeric tray container is currently in process”.

Additionally the NATICK PAM 30-25 6th edition from April 2004, side 4, article “Comments” gives the following information: “The H&S metal tray can has been replaced with the polymeric tray container; phase-in was completed during the 2003 production”.

Here is the appendant link:

I opened and ate one metal tray “Spice Cake with Vanilla Crump” date packed 1995 in summer 2007: It was delicious. Compared to that the “new generation” cakes which were packed in plastic sheet molded already a few months after date of pack!!

By the way Tyr, from which region in Germany do you come from?

So long mreheater72

One of these days I'm going to have to get seventeen of my bravest friends over for breakfast and I'll open up my "Omlet with Bacon and Cheese" tray dated 2044 (Feb 13, 2002).

And they can wash it down with all those MRE coffee packets I've collected!

Wow, CaptBob...I hope you invite over either people you don't want to be friends with for long or only your really, really best friends...because that Omelet is going to test them. :-)
