I did not include an analysis on pricing.
Compared to competitors LLF has an average $78.50 for their MRE's cases.
They average about $6.25 per MRE.
Now compare that with the folks at My Own Meals.
They wanted $110.00 per individual case.
An average of about $9.17 per MRE.
LLF's prices have remained steady for some time.

Comparing LLF's MREs to the My Own Meals is a pretty apples to oranges comparison (for our non-native-english speaking members, I mean it's not really comparing two similar things).
It's a better comparison to look at the LLF MREs vs. the Sopakco Sure-Paks or Ameriqual aPacks. Here's how they stack up:
LLF MREs, no heaters - $75 per case ($6.25 per MRE), free shipping
Sopakco Sure-Paks, no heaters - $62 per case ($5.17 per MRE), non-free shipping
Ameriqual aPacks, heaters - $68.50 per case ($5.21 per MRE), free shipping
(Sure-Paks from https://www.meyerscustomsupply.com/ , aPacks from http://mrefoods.com )
Also take a look at the civilian MRE comparison here:
http://www.mreinfo.com/civilian/mre/civ ... rison.html
In terms of calorie count, variety of food, and inclusion of heaters for the price, the aPacks seem to be a better deal, at least in terms of specs. The LLF MREs have that nice ziplock bag for the accessory pouch, but I'm still trying to see the advantage to buying a case of LLF MREs with unknown menus.

Long Life Food Menus
Kman:
I sent Long Life Food an e-mail and inquired about specific selections and here is the reply:
Hi J***,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Our Full Meals are a nice variety of what we list in the Entree Section of our website http://www.longlifefood.com
The menus are based on current inventory stocking levels and are the exact same meals we sell to FEMA, DHS, US Embassies, military bases, etc. Due to the high volume of orders we cannot take specific menu requests.
The only samples we have is in the form of a sample kit--> http://www7.mailordercentral.com/longli ... =3&mitem=3
Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.
Best regards,
Jim / Long Life Food Depot

Hello,
I've ordered several boxes of MRE ready meals in the past from your company.
I'm curious if you can customize your choices when it comes to buying
the MRE's by the case or do you simply ship items that get
rotated in your inventory? Do you post your MRE menus
beforehand on your website?
Also, do you have samples of products to send out.
As a customer, here is my address.
Thank you,
J*** K***

Thanks for checking into that further, jfko6. I guess that model of shipping whatever they have in stock has been working for them. From the perspective of the various agencies they mentioned, I can see where that works well for everyone - the agencies don't particularly care what menus they get - as long as they get "food for emergencies", they're happy.
