New MRE's

Oh man that's really disappointing, though understandable. I really hope they are able to work out the issues. Those were the kind of rations I wish someone would step up and produce. I think they would have a wide appeal, sold in stores right next to the freeze dried food and in grocery stores. Civilians don't need the product requirements and constraints of military MRE's. Packaging off the shelf items would work well, perhaps just using some MRE supplier components - something similar to civilian Russian rations or the Korean sold French rations I've had. I just consumed canned Tushonka produced in the US, it was really good and actually had better flavor than the Russian stuff. There is no reason we can't have our own excellent civilian rations, ones that don't need to last so many years. Great for students, campers, meals at home, anyone who doesn't want to buy a lot of food to have a complete or portable meal. I'm half Japanese and dream of vending machines filled with such MRE's.

on OldSmokey's livestream, they were mentioning that the issues with these might have been sorted and they were completing assembly of these.

Perhaps it's on it's way. Haven't seen much news out there on their FB, Instagram, etc. Would love updates, but they must be busy. I have two still outstanding that I had a friend order me. Here's hoping.
