We just hired a new staffing manager at work. He is a former army recruiter real cool guy. We were talking one day and i said do you have any mres you would want to get rid of. He said no but let me call my buddy. Turns out his buddy has tons of mre's. Saturday i am getting four sealed cases FOR FREE!!!!! He didnt know the pack dates but said they were from an exercise from six months ago. I will let you know how this turns out tommorow.

Lucky guy. The only other way I know of to get free MREs is to enlist...so I'd say you definitely got a good deal. :-)

great score!

personally - i wouldn't want to feel obligated, espec to the new staffing mgr (unless she was a hot single babe!)...

remember - ass, gas or cash. no one rides for free (for very long).

he is married with two kids. i am married with one son and another on the way. i know that dont always matter, but it damn sure does to me. he is just a good person he paid nothing for them, he charged me nothing. former military people have a comraderie that some people cant fathom. unless they were shitbirds and trash the military because they were unable to adapt or succeed there. believe it or not there are still some good people in the world. i guess it depends on the type of people you associate with.

i understand about brothers-in-arms. but you're not getting the mres from him. you're getting them from his friend thru him.

sorry, call me suspicious, but that's the way i roll.

yes but his friend is an active duty army recruiter. i have never seen the guy and probably never will. i dont quite understand what i should be suspicious of. most people dont place value on mre's. they are just nasty military food as far as they are concerned. i know before i got out i would bring several cases home and give them to my uncles who are avid hunters. i never charged them anything and never asked for anything in return. this guy dont sale the mres at all. he just has lots due to he runs a recruiting station and they are readily available. just some old soldiers taking care of each other. the way it should be.
