I agree. I think Natick should be enjoined from deleting any items* from the menus. Assuming they can find a supplier, at least. The combination knife sharpener/oatmeal bar was a culinary masterpiece, guaranteed to cause an intense craving for at least a quart of milk! I miss the caffeinated mints, chocolate covered coffee beans, and the original style oatmeal cookie.

*Pesto pasta? Whatever that green gnarly entree was. Jeeze Louise, what were they thinking?
YES! The pesto pasta can go right to hell.... hell i say

Yeah I've had them in 2019 FSR's and MCW's also 2019 dated.

I guess folks didn't like those packs of hot sauce, though the buffalo sauce in the FSR's are great albeit there's a lot of it.
I came, I saw, I ate some rations then fell asleep amongst the clover.

I actually liked that Pesto Pasta. Taste like real Italian Women.

Hi all... my first post...

Just got a Tabasco bottle in Menu 3. A fairly recent one. 0252 is the date code on the bag and the bottle itself is dated 0230.

Cheers

Hi, and welcome :D

That is super recent, hopefully they are back for good and let's hope they are less leak prone than the old ones.

Mind you, there's nothing like opening an MRE and being greeted to the smell of a leaked tabasco...... Ahh the memories

Yeah they were a neat little condiment that made the accessory bag look like someone cared.

Most of you guys probably already know this - but for those that may not, the McIIhenny co. has a long association with American military rations. During the Viet Nam war they even published a "C Rat Cookbook" and were sending cases of Tabasco gratis to our guys forward deployed, the GIs were writing letters requesting the condiment.

It's a great story, and I always got a kick out the little bottles. I have a large stash of them, actually. Especially liked it in the Chicken & Noodles and Tuna & Noodles (Throw in a cheese packet, mix it all up, break open a pack of crackers in thar, and that's some Fine Dinin' right there!)
