Chicken mit Salsa

Post by DangerousDave » Sat May 28, 2005 9:43 am

I've been working so many 12 hr. shifts lately, I don't have time to breath. I took a Chicken with Salsa meal to work one day, and ate the whole thing thing in the breakroom, to the awe and wonderment of several of my co-workers. It was a Hoot!. Some of them were like, "Wow, is that what Army guys eat over in Iraq?". They were amazed by the heater. 8)

Same work excuse here. With summer coming up, I thought things were supposed to slow down. :-)

How's the MRE market looking to you guys? Ebay seems to have settled down - have been too many deals there lately but there also haven't been too many crackheads trying to sell a case for $80.

Ebay

Ebay may have slowed down for the Summer, but not where I work. I'll be working 12s 6-7 days a week till September. Have'nt had a chance to get down to Bragg either, to check on availability. I'm down to maybe a case and a half or so. KMan, did you ever have the pleasure of eating a MRE Chocolate Sports Bar? I tryed one once, and almost lost several teeth. Looked like a pressed and formed petrified T_RD!

Hey DangerousDave - yes, I've had one of those MRE chocolate sports bars. They certainly had a lot of chocolate in them - and the sport seemed to come from trying to chew your way through it. I think I burned more calories trying to chew it up than I did from the bar itself.

I can see where they thought it'd be a good idea to put a Powerbar-like thing in there - but at the expense of breaking off a couple of teeth? Maybe it's like the old-timey hard-tack where you were supposed to soak it in water before eating.
