MRE 40 (2020) Improvement Ins and Outs

Some really interesting items coming in 2020 it seems like. sad to see the long time component, cocoa beverage, finally being retired.

I wonder what's going to make up for the 3oz of hash browns they're removing from the package. One of the new "Recovery" items?

Shame about the hash browns.

The sausage and marinara sounds good. It would be nice to have some kind of roll to put it in. Gawd I hope they don't pack it with tortillas.

Too many tortillas.

Do they really listen to feedback from soldiers about the menu items? Why have so many good components been nixed? And yes, too many tortillas! Everyone else has better bread than us, better meat, and why must our drinks have so much dye in them?

No way can they be getting rid of cocoa beverage powder. i don’t believe it. They must be changing the type or style to something else.

I can't believe it either, it's been a staple of US rations for so long, would hate to see it go. :cry:

I’m not an expert but from my memory their has been a cocoa beverage in US rations for at least the last 60 years.
