Cheap MREs located in NC

Post by Travelowl » Sun Nov 25, 2018 3:55 pm

My brother was visiting relatives in NC last week and reported that a place called Curt's Premium Outlet in Gastonia, NC, is selling MREs for $16 a case. That's even cheaper than I've seen shady people selling out of their trunk at gun shows. My brother doesn't know anything about MREs but was smart enough to ask a clerk and was told the production dates were 2014-2016. Be warned that the store appears to be shortstaffed and the employee seemed rude. The MREs were in two locations, some inside the door and to the right and more towards the back wall. I searched online and it appears they don't have a website, so probably local sales only.

Even though I wish I lived closer cuz I would be all over that but it seems too good to be true! If someone confirms I see a road trip in my future!

I don't know of anyone ever being prosecuted for it, but commercial sale is illegal.

Thats an amazing price. I asked about the legal issue at my local military store and they said that the cases of 2016-17dated US MREs they get are donated to them by their various suppliers.

Who knows if thats true though. The store still charges $8 to $10 each, which seems to be the typical price around here

Bought, donated, or stolen makes no difference. Commercial sale is prohibited.
