Post by kman » Sat May 26, 2007 10:18 am

Check it out - our very own SoFloAuthor was asked to do a piece on hurricane preparedness on a South Florida TV station:

Besides the other good ideas they cover, they also feature the MREStar civilian MREs.

There's an another video from the same station with SoFloAuthor. Not sure what the broadcast date may have been.

Hi all,

The gig is up I guess ha ha! The interview K-man posted is from 2007 and the one after is from 2006.

I'm the stations preparedness guy when the wind blows and life sucks in South Florida. There's other interviews out there in internet land.

That being said, I've formed Paratus International LLC to help educate our first responders on the need to be prepared....I've found that the majority of our police and fire stations are not supplied as well as they could be or as well as Americans believe they are.

My seminars and guide are on the Responders Knowledge Base (www.rkb.us) a website sponsored in part by DHS.

My seminars and books are my business, and funding for our first responders is lean, so I am looking for corporate sponsors to assist me in getting our community protectors up to snuff.

Check out my website to see products I've tested (brutally) and endorse, many support me in my endeavors, some do not....if a product's good, I'll tell ya!

Check out my newest sponsors, turbocellcharge and aquamira... both online.....good stuff!

Thanks for sharing what I do! Preparedness is a mission dear to my heart.

I really like that WaterSafe product mentioned in your latest video and also linked from your website. I've been stocking water in 2 liter bottles and I always had a plan of filling the bathtub with water if/when the need arises. But my problem has always been getting a good seal on the bathtub's drain.

This product would seem to fix that problem. Great idea!

The WaterSafe is a cool product. Invented in Florida and MADE IN THE USA (beware of CHINESE imitations) FDA approved beverge Durex bags taste better than vinyl or plastic.

I always tell my clients to use 20oz bottles of water or drinking (MRE drink mix is proportioned for 16.9 or 20oz depending on manufacturer)

It's also EZ to grab cases of water and cases of MREs if you have to flee. Bottled water is usually dated with a 2 year shelf life.

The WaterSafes are great for clean-up, flushing toilets, cooking (boiling water) etc etc. WaterSafe also sells Aquamira products to keep the water fresh and stable for long term usage after a disaster.

The 55 gallon version is deployable, as I have seen it rolled from the back of a pickup truck (full) and not suffer from the drop. Perfect for first responders who need to drop water supplies!

I'll buy a copy straight from you instead so you get 100% of the profits, up to you, I'll pick up a copy anyway. I'm out of books right now and it's certainly what I'm in to reading right now so let me know, I'll write a check. I'd always rather do that w/ authors and musicians I know, makes more sense. Of course getting higher on the Amazon list can't help I'm sure.

Hi,
is it a joke or does Durex actually make water bags?

I only knew them for their little lubricated rubber bags, maybe it’s because of my nationality

Hey guys, thanks for the kudos

Ol' Dirty, no B-ball...teach SCUBA, did some SAR time...

Big Mark and anyone else wanting to buy the guide, please buy it from Bn.com, (link on my site)

Barnes and Noble pays higher royalties, and I DONATE them to disaster relief n the U.S.A. (just like it says on the cover!)

I make my living from seminars and product endorsements. (I only endorse products that I test first....)

Stef, The WaterSafe product is made in the U.S. from beverage bag material, perhaps I meant Duro-tek, sorry you're stuck in "little lubricated rubber bags"....

June 1st starts Hurricane Season and there's disturbed weather off the Yucatan.....MREs (check) WaterSafe (check) Rum (check) Limes (x) Beer (x)........I'm headed to the store!
