Has anyone tried any of the tray rations. What did you think of them and what kind did you have

No, I don not sale...

slister33, I thought it was just the opposite - that the Army wanted to stop using the tray rations but the Marines wanted to keep using them. Let me see if I can dig up the link real quick...
Nah...can't find it. Maybe they were just talking about the older t-rations. Everything I'm finding online right now seems to be talking about the trays in the UGRs.

Re: Tray Rations
In my collection there are about 25 tray-rations, mainly cakes and most of them in metal cans, for exampel "Spice Cake with Vanilla Crumb". I think they all have a very, very good taste! Do anyone know, how long these metal can cakes are still eatible (I have two from 1994 and still have not opened them)? The most cakes you can buy today, are wrapped in a transparent plastic pouch, are these also called tray-rations?
Best wishes mreheater72
Have they stopped the producing of the metal can tray-rations, which is shown on the upper part of the second photo?housil wrote:They are avialable in different containers:

First of all they had this metal containers, then they replaced them with the plastic containers for the entrees (and omletts etc)mreheater72 wrote:In my collection there are about 25 tray-rations, mainly cakes and most of them in metal cans, for exampel "Spice Cake with Vanilla Crumb". and the dessert only (as much as I know and have...)

The cake in the metal containers never came in plastic containers.
They changed the cakes from the metal containers in "cold cakes" like:

and "warm cakes":

and others:

I never had a "rotten" cake, doesn´t matter how old they were. They contain to much sugar to spoil (I guess).
