call me stupid, but . . .

Post by icarus » Wed Mar 28, 2007 12:54 pm

I see most of the time that cases of "12 meals" are offered for sale, and that each case has a coresponding menu as well. The menu includes the main entre, but isn't each meal a complete meal with other food to go along with the entre? From the photos on this site, that IS what I see. But I also see "side dishes" (as well as seperate entres) for sale which makes me think that the meals in the case are not "complete", or are the side dishes for sale broken out of the cases?

Assuming that is correct, why are the other items are included in each meal and not listed on the menu's?

Also, Is it better or worse, or does it not matter if I purchase individual meals as opposed to one's in cases, as far as tampering, etc.? I ask because there are definitely items on some of the menus that are not appealing to me (Jumbalaya).

It's probably more costly but the idea of purchasing separate meals sounds like a good idea.

Any thoughts? :?:

I was actually thinking about this and I think it would be very cost effective because when you get a case of mre's, you normally have about 2-3 of them you hate. if you get 12 meals you already like, you will eat all of them and not waste 2-3. It will cost about 10-15 bucks more, but it is worth it because you aren't stuck with 2 country captain chickens or something.

I don't like non MRE jambaylaya so I can't imagine liking the MRE version.

Well, lets face it, whether or not CCC is any good, it's not like our armed forces are gourmet eaters or anything, and there are a lot of people who have never had curry, so instead of going from liking curry to being able to accept crappy curry, they just learn to hate it.. dunno.. I like the flavor, i hate the almonds..
