So i ordered a few mres. augraten potatos. i didnt hear the delivery guy so they were sitting out in the sun for a few hours.
when i opend the box the mre's were not hot, but pretty warm, for all i know it could have been out there for 6 or 7 hours. are they still ok?
are my mre's ok?
Re: are my mre's ok?
Your rations are more than likely fine. They're designed to withstand hot and cold weather conditions so a few hours in the heat (or cold) won't do any harm. The only thing that might be "ruined" is chocolate candy, if your ration has it of course.
However, months and years of storage in high temperatures may reduce the shelf life of your rations whereas cold temperatures when storing long term will enhance the shelf life of your rations. Also, high and low temperature extremes may affect your MRE.
I am by no means an expert when it comes to MREs, especially compared to senior and long time members of this forum. But judging by what you have said, they sound like they will be fine

Good luck and may your rations stay unspoiled!

Ya it was just 5 or 6 hours in the box which was out in the sun, other than that as far as i know it came from the manufacturer

Like the others have mentioned already, yes, short periods of high temps are fine. It's the long-term storage temp (months or years) that will have an adverse effect on shelf life and quality.
