New to MREInfo.com - Thanks Kman

I think this site is a great idea. I've recently gotten into buying MRE's; mainly for the unpredictable, but have found they are oh so fun to eat. I wanted to try these, as I had eaten them as a kid. But kids like anything, so I figured I'd try it again.

My very first MRE in the new millenium was Jambalaya w/Shrimp. I thought it was all pretty damn good for grunt food. The pound cake was awesome, and the dairy shake was delicious.

Second was Beef Enchilada's. Again, not bad at all, refried beans. Cheese Spread with Crackers were good too. This meal I thought was extremely filling. Although I do not care for Molasses cookies.

Third I tried was Beef Pot Roast w/ Vegetables. Yummy. I thought the cranberries were good too. Chocolate cookie was not bad either.

Overall experience with 3/12 in CaseB 2009 are a solid 9.5. I feel like these meals are extremely well layed out, and definitely give you some carb boosts. I cannot wait to take these on one of my inshore trips.

Only draw back I have, is the swamp gas effect after eating these. Is that normal?
 D

Welcome to the forums, fishnfool. So where are you picking up your MREs? Ebay? I haven't run across any 2006 (2009 inspection) cases yet but I suppose it's safe enough to start looking for them to make sure I get the 2006 menus.

You gotta watch out for that swamp gas effect. MREs affect different people in different ways. For me, I don't notice any effects but I've heard others report everything from swamp gas to MREs setting their intestines on "puree". Yuck.

Keep the reviews coming! Especially if you get to sample any of the new entrees like Chili with Beans or Tuna Fish.
