MRE Photo shoot contest

I ran across this photo on Flickr this morning:

It looks like they're seeing who can produce the most appetizing photo of an MRE. Here's a quote:

The idea is simple, take one of the gray and eerie government meal packets (we found a surprisingly wide variety on ebay) unpack it, arrange it, light it and shoot it to look as scrumptious as it could ever hope to be. As you can see above, in the right hands, this can be done with remarkable grace.

very cool, I feel inspired to crack a bag and start shooting. this definitely rasies the bar in terms of shooting MRE's. I don't think I can anymore open up the bag and just arange the contents. thanks for the cool post

Here's the result, of course being only amateur and very hungry I sped along and forgot to review my pics. Unfortunately I screwed up the lighting
with the help of photshop this was the best I could do

Sorry, beazle00...everything else in the picture looks good but I just don't think there's any way you make Chili not look like crap (literally). It's not your fault...really...some things just weren't meant to be photographed.

Grey ???? This sets the tone (pun intended) of the blog! How can a color blind person be a photographer???

Maybe the writer was canadian and looking at IMP pouches? i dunno, i'm really reaching on that one lol
