Hello. I'm newly registered, although I've been checking this site out since it started. I think it is a great place for MRE information, and for once, it's nice to see that I'm not the freak my wife says I am for liking MRE's, since plenty of others do too obviously!
My reason for writing is to mention, that as of a few months ago, McIlhenny (the makers of Tabasco) still had some of the MRE cookbooks in stock. I called up and they will send you a few for free. At least as of late last year, they still had them, in case anyone is looking for them. Just call their order number.

MRE Cookbook
Hi Chip - welcome to the forums! Thanks for the tip on the MRE cookbooks - I've seen some similar things for sale on ebay but I don't recall seeing one from McIlhenny. I'll have to give them a call and see if they have any more.
Regarding your wife thinking you're a freak for liking MREs...heh heh...that sounds familiar. Whenever I used to get MREs in the mail, my wife would say "why are you getting so many MREs?" She didn't understand the fascination. But I've worn her down over time...now it's "hey...you got some more MREs".

Whew
Firstly, thank heavens she left you the MREs!
Secondly, I don't believe that Ameriqual runs any civilian version of the MREs, so there's nothing to really have a separate page on them for.
Sopakco and Wornick which also do government MRE runs have a civilain line, which is why they have a separate information page ontheir products. Ameriqual is essentially covered in the main MRE Meu page.

Hi Kyle - welcome to the forums!
I used to believe (like Mirage) that Ameriqual didn't produce any civilian rations. But lately, I've been noticing that the "Field Ready Rations" that I see occasionally look like they might be made by Ameriqual. I haven't actually had any of these in my hands, but from some of the pictures I've seen, they look like they might be Ameriqual's civilain version. And that would make sense - I always wondered by Ameriqual, the largest producer of MREs, didn't make a civilian version.
What kind of entrees made by Ameriqual did you find?

Hmmm..
Well, I'm still a bit skeptical about the Ameriqual civilian rations, but I'm open to correction - let me know if you do manage to snag a few of these for comparison to confirm if they are in fact Ameriqual or not.
