I am a newbie

Anyone here interested in trading MRE components? I dont have a use for most of the main entre's. I like the higher carb items for when I am cycling. They are handy to have. Thought someone might like to swap. Other items I have no use for, Coffee, creamer, sugars, salt, tabasco, matches, heaters. Stuff that noone else wants I assume. Items I like to have, ice tea and the coolaids. Work great on a 75 mile bike ride. Has anyone figured out a trade system? What componet is worth what? ie meal is worth 2 sides, or whatever? I don't see a coffee being = to a cool aid. I would trade a coffee for a cider, or a cool aid for a hot cocoa. Some things are useless, I think. Salt, sugar, toilet paper, matches, handi wipe.

I'm always interested in trading. Personally, I like the coffee and creamers because those are great to throw in my bag when I'm travelling. One of the things I don't usually use is the drink mixes - but right now, I'm trying to work a trade with another forum member (drink mixes for crackers and peanut butter). If that doesn't work out, maybe we can deal.

As for the conversion system, I think you pretty much just make it up as you go along. For me, it's usually been "I'll give you all of my X and you give me all of your Y" - I don't worry that maybe the other guy is getting a few extra things from me...I'm just happy to get rid of all the extra junk I don't want.

One trade system I have thought about is the entree vs. whole MRE meal. Right now, I'm leaning towards 2-3 entrees for 1 whole MRE.

Let me know how it goes. If he can't fix you up, I can. The lady I bought my mre's from is suppose to ship me a box full of the things her family didn't eat. This could be good, this could be bad. But no matter what, it's free.
