The RCW/MCW's have a looonng "shelf life". So that's why they are very rare to find plus thety are very coveted by colectors and pople like us.
I personally like them for long term storage. I have some old bags from the late 90's and they are good as new. The only thing you have to watch out for is the chocolate bars and the chocolate covered cookies. But everything else can last for a while wihtout getting spoiled.

Actually these are more likely 80's or 90's production, as the RCW was phased out and replaced with the MCW circa 1999-2000 if I'm not mistaken. I guess you'd have to look at the spoon...80's would have MCI type spoon, and 90's the brown spoon. Good score nonetheless 8)

No problem at all, my friend 8) Besides, someone would have spotted it sooner or later  I got some from Treesuit last year, which were from circa '89 with the MCI type spoons. With the exception of the Fig newtons, which looked questionable, all the components were tasty, esp. the chocolate cookie. One thing that irritated me, is the mix of the granola and oatmeal block in the same package...the granola flavor bled off to the oatmeal block, making it taste a bit funky.

Man I wish I could get a case of RCW's... its those Oatmeal cookie bars - why are those so damn good - and more so .. why don't they make these anymore?
I pay $25 for a complete and non-separated, unopened RCW. That means if I saw a case like this on U.S. Ebay I'd be bidding up to $150 not including shipping... so yeah - super nice find on that case.

I'm jealous. :(
