Hello! I'm new to the forums and wanted to share this information. I ordered two cases from armygear.net after reading this thread a few weeks ago, and was thankful that the price had dropped back to $89.98 + shipping (came to about $116 total). However, it took about three weeks for me to get them, as they apparently didn't have any in the warehouse when I ordered mine. They were also all 2009 production, which doesn't bother me, but I wanted everyone to know that they aren't just shipping 2010 menus out. I emailed "Joel" at armygear.net about my order, and he always kept me informed about the status. Once I received them, I also emailed him to find out where they get them from and how they store them. He said they get them from the troops in Missouri (I assume the National Guard???), and that they trade needed equipment for MREs. It sounds feasible to me. He also told me that once they get them, the MREs are stored in an underground storage facility that armygear.net has. I haven't had any of the meals from these two cases yet, but I'm not too worried about the handling/storage of them prior to when I received them. I guess we'll find out soon enough! Also, the box contained all 24 menus from cases A & B.

I also received mine last week, but how do you know what year they are?

Mine have no dates, they are the 2008 to present packaging.

I couldn't find any dates on the outside packaging, either. I know they are 2009 menus by deductive reasoning. For example, instead of the 2008 #4 Cheese and Vegetable Omelet, I got Maple Sausage (introduced in 2009). Menu #7 is Beef Brisket, not Meatloaf w/ Gravy like in 2008. Menu #24 is Buffalo Chicken, not Chicken w/ Salsa like in 2008. I know they aren't 2010, because I received #5 Chicken Breast, not Mediterranean Chicken (or Chicken, Tomato Feta) which came out in 2010. Also, my menu #15 is Beef Enchilada, not Southwest Beef & Black Beans that also came out in 2010. Just look at the menus on this site for each year and compare what you received to the menu. Then you will know! :D

Another way to tell is to just open up one of the MREs. Each individual piece inside will have a datecode on it and you can use these to tell if they were made in 2009 or 2010. But I'd agree with Paha Sapa - the best non-intrusive way of telling the date is to deduce the date from the menus.

Just FYI - I emailed them earlier this week and they are currently out of MRE's, the email stated they expect to get more in after New Years. Hopefully they will be 2010 production MRE's as I need a new case too.

Sadly it appears that they are still out of stock  With they way things are going, I am afraid I might not be able to resupply my stock when the time comes .

I got 1 MRE left out of my original 24. I ate all the good ones first so now I'm kinda sick of them since only the bad ones were left
