What's YOUR current favorite MRE entree?
Just wondering...I like to ask everybody I know who eats MRE's the same question.
What's your current favorite MRE entree? For now, let's limit this to current production menu items, whether it's genuine U.S. issue, or civilian version (Sopako, Wornick, Amerqual, etc.)
If you have a hard time just choosing one, what are the others you like?

Okay, I like the Maple Sausage Pork Patty
But I do enjoy:
Hashbrown with bacon
Potato/Cheddar with Bacon Soup
Cinnamon Scone
M&M's
Spiced Apple Pieces
Meatballs in Marinara Sauce

my favourite right now is the steak with mushroom and gravy, which itself the entree is gravy.

It's a dead heat between Chilli Mac and Beef Stew
But then, I do have 2 cases to get through so maybe my opinion will change

I'd have to say for me it's the Pork Rib. I was surprised that it is different from the Tray Pack Pork Rib, which I love, too!
My wife's is the chili mac.

Just love the Cheese & Vegetable Omelet.
Ok, just kidding although I don't mind it. I really like the Pork Rib!

Re: What's YOUR current favorite MRE entree?
I only eat brown bag MREs
I say, BRING back some of the old school menus. IMHO the 92 -95 menus were the "golden age" of MRE meals.
I bet if some of the old school meals were re introduced, they would go down a wow, especially with the younger recruits who have never tried them
I dont like the sound of most of the current MRE mains. Too fussy, spicy. I dont do chilli and I dont do macaroni.
Just my opinion.
My favs.. BBQ pork and rice - Brilliant
Meatballs in rice w Tomato sauce - Lovely
These both jan 1992 vintage Ive got a case to enjoy still.. All components were perfect, apart from sticky charms. Thats no barrier, so I ate them anyway.
Chicken a la king next. Im going to create a sicko twisted thai peanut chicken chowder with it. Crumble in the crackers and add the peanut butter. Additional spicing based on how drunk I am. A refreshing cucumber and cherry tomato salad on the side.
Then the ham slice. Im scared of the tuna and noodles. I feel strangely confident about the ham and egg omelette. I have a plan to make it edible. First mash up the pouch with a rolling pin. Then cook for 5 mins on a hob in very boiling water. Then remove from pouch and sautee gently in butter. A teaspoon of ketchup about half way through.

I love those old (dark brown bag) BBQ Pork with rice and the Meatballs (marbles) in tomato sauce entrees.
Also, it's no wonder that Beef Stew has been on the MRE menu ever since creation. Excellent choice.

I have to admit, I prefer the 1981-1985 menus : Freeze Dried Beef Patties; Turkey, Diced with Gravy; Beef, Diced with Gravy; Meatballs in Barbeque Sauce and of course the Ham Slices!biscuits brown wrote:...I say, BRING back some of the old school menus. :...
