#22 Chicken and Dumplings and #16 Chicken Fajita-Monday bags

During longer outdoor activities we had some MRE and some of them had different contents than they should have.

#22 Chicken and Dumplings :
Two spoons and furthermore Grape Jelly and Chunky Peanut Butter in the same MRE
I had some MRE in the past with two cream substitute or two salt/sugar bags but never had a MRE with two additional items.

Someone else had #16 Chicken Fajita out of the same case and the
the Chocolate pudding was missing. No other item for the missing one was in there

But no problem as long as they don’t forget the entrée one day
The warm entrée was the main thing on this snowy and long day.

and also the delicious Choclettos were packed as usual with five in it

all other MRE had the contents they should have

I also opend a 2002 MRE and got 2 spoons in it but nothing was missing

I do not like that the content does not comply with the menu. is unpleasant to wait to eat something and see that not opening the package.
The landscape seems to London or Madrid these days

Could of that been a #22 from the 2009 Menu? I had that entree for lunch yesterday. If so, then it would of been normal to have both the Chunky Peanut Butter AND the Grape Jelly, however the extra spoon is a nice bonus. I actually used both some jelly and peanut butter onto the one and lonely WSB and it was tasty.

No, the menus were all of production date 2008 like the whole case.

My content of #22 :

Candy (Choclettos)

2 Spoons
Accessory Packet A

Hot beverage bag

However, it seems the manufacturer do not make a (100% ? ) weight check at the end of the production line with the packed MRE so that they can check whether parts are missing or too much in the bag.

By the way the chipotle snack bread I had of # 20 Spaghetti is really delicious
Much more better than the usual wheat snack bread

I have had something similar a couple of months ago with a 2007 Menu No. 24 “Meatloaf with Onion Brown Gravy” . The closed MRE was really “heavy” and “thick”, as I opened it I compared the contents with the menu-list on MREinfo.com and noted that there were at least two items redundant . But sorry, I can’t remember them .

I guess by the “modern” MREs you can’t count on the menu list, but by early dark brown ones it was sure that the contents always were the same .
