had it for lunch today - heated it with the frh, opened it and it smelled fine.
loaded it up with hot sauce and it tasted fine and went down easy.
not too much later the intestinal fun started, requiring a double time trip to the head.
so, chicken crapatelli, oh twister of the intestinal tract - i dedicate this song to you.
2005 chicken cavatelli review
Re: 2005 chicken cavatelli review
I have a feeling it went something like this:
Re: 2005 chicken cavatelli review
i lol'd on that one -
yeah - it started out with a lot of twist and shout, ended with bad to the bone.
like al bundy, the head on my floor was a toxic wasteland for hours afterwards.
i am surprised no one called out the hazmat team.

LOL, I'm keeping a log of eating MREs and your story had a ring of familiarity to it. Here's what I wrote a month ago:
----------------
Date: 2/5/2009
MRE Date: 12-2005
Months old when eaten: 38
Manufacturer: Wornick
Meal: 23 - Chicken with Cavitelli
Heating method: Boiled
Notes: Entree pretty good. Lots of chicken, relatively little sauce and noodles in mine. These were shells, not cavitelli. Flavor was fine and the texture was pretty good - meat was firm but not tough. Wheat snack bread as usual, cheese with bacon tasted pretty much like cheese without bacon, perhaps a little saltier. Carrot pound cake was also good, though it tasted more strongly of pineapple than carrots. The night after eating all that, I was visited, about 3:30, by the fairy godmother of stomach bugs. For about an hour I had awful cramps, but never quite got around to throwing up. Then she departed. I'm ok, but tired, in the morning, and have no idea if it was related to the food. Lemon-lime drink mix is tasty. "Fig bar" turns out to be a perfectly normal fig newton, two double-length sections of them, and quite good.
----------------
So, I'm thinking maybe it wasn't a coincidence. Interesting.
