LOL, I want to take a squad and head for the MREs, DangerousDave I guess you can lead the attack on the EPA's...LOL!DangerousDave wrote:If this is true, which I'm not convinced yet that it is, I think we should all get together, load for Bear, rent a couple of U-Haul 22 footers, drive down to that warehouse and liberate a few pallets of those rat-packs. We should be able to wipe aside any fema or fda punks that stand in the way! YEA!

Here´s my post from the hurricane relief topic:
Referring to the EPA:
Germany sent 4 food loads , each about 15 tons. 3 went well, the 4th was rejected by the secretary or department of agriculture because of the possibility of EPA meat being contaminated with BSE!! Isn´t that ridiculous? Same goes with british and russian rations sent to the USA.
So the next hurrican is probably hitting the states causing more chaos and the government is destroying food which is needed and will be needed in the near future...how stupid.

I'm not too surprised about the MREs drying up. I'm guessing that they really emptied their warehouses when Katrina first hit and now they're starting to think, "hey, we need a lot of MREs for the troops in Iraq, too".
I've heard that the MRE producers (Sopakco, Ameriqual, Wornick) have received new contract to start producing MREs and I'm sure they're running three shifts a day to get them out, but these two hurricanes must have really cut into their inventory.

Hey Guys,
Just read in the local military newspaper tonight that the emergency services down in the Texas (i.e. FEMA) have requested additional Meals, water and plastic tarps for the hurricane effort in Texas. Guess this means that the MRE contractors will be working triple time trying to get the meals out.

Hey Guys. Here's a link to a Washington Post article about the impounded British rations.

If they are looking to get rid of them, I'd gladly take a few!
