I found some interesting site (hoping that I don´t boring cause this site is known by most of you already ):

Here you can download the "US OPERATIONAL RATIONS" from 1950 until now. I think it is very interesting stuff!

So far, this is one of the more interesting rations I've seen in those documents:

Dental Liquid Ration

Purpose: the Dental Liquid ration is designed for military personnel who are unable to eat solid foods dui to brken jaws or other maxillo-cacial injuries.

I know you need foods like this because these types of injuries will occur - it was just interesting that they came up with a whole ration for it.
