The store I checked was a regular ol' Wal-mart...nothing super about it. But there are a couple other Super Wal-marts around and from shopping at those in the past, they've also never had Mountain House food. Must be a regional-purchaser thing.
I did hear, howevem, that Costco's in North Carolina a while back had Ameriqual aPack ReadyMeals for $20 a case...closeout price. I'm not a member of Costco so I didn't check it out but $20 sounded like a great price.

Well that sucks `DD!
(but at least you've got your finger on the ammo supply)
Sadly though, all good things come to an end.....even here in Northern Arizona.
Yesterday I ran to my `Wally with a few more bucks in my hand to scarf up more entrees, only to discover that what had been a shelf area composed of 5 rows of 3 hangers each (filled to the brim with Mountain House pouches), was now scaled down to only ONE row, period.
And no more sale items either.
And what, you may ask, did they replace the freeze dried food with?

Everything tastes better with Tabasco
C-Rats,
Man that is a horror!
I may have an alternative. This is for some of the forum members here that live near or work on military bases like I do. If you can stop by the local Base/Post Exchange and see what they have in their outdoor/hunting/camping/fishing section or asile you'd be surprised to find that Moutain House is a regualr staple of the shelf. Now I can't say for sure what sells but the two bases near where I live do have a good selection.
Also I'm not sure what the prices might be like but if somebody would send me a price quote for one entree' I can chcek it out and get back to you. That and there's no sales tax on any military installation so that's a plus.
One other thing; I have not checked up on the MH varieties in about two weeks so things might have been switched around. If anybody is interested we might be able to do some comparisons and see?
