Yet another addict...

Post by Plissken » Mon Jan 21, 2008 5:32 pm

Hello,
I've been lurking these forums on and off for about a year now.
I recently bought my first case of MREs (menu A) and the excitement finally made me join... Along with the case I also picked up 3 MCWs, Beef Stew, Spaghetti w/Meat Sauce, and Turkey Tetrazzini. I've never had MCWs before so I'm pretty excited about these.

A little about myself, I'm a 19 year old college student doing some freelance art on the side... to buy MREs of course! It all started in the mid 90s when my brother bought a dark brown bag MRE from an army surplus store. I believe the entree was Chicken Ala King, it was delicious!

When I receive my new MREs (hopefully by this Friday) I plan on taking tons of photos. mreinfo.com is a great site, but I wish it had more photos. There are plenty of people out there who have no clue as to what they actually look like/contain (I was one of those people) and are very curious.

Anyway, great site and forum!

P.S. Chili Mac is the greatest entree ever!

Welcome to the forums, Plissken. I hear what you're saying about the pictures. I recently revamped the actual MRE page so that it included some pictures - now I just need to add some more. A number of the guys on the forums have been sending in pictures of their ration reviews and I try to post those as quickly as possible because everyone likes seeing what the food actually looks like. Now if only someone could perfect web-based scratch-n-sniff. :-)

Enjoy your new case of MREs and the MCWs.

I need to setup a vote for the best entree so chili mac can beat out the competition.
