Re: My 6 or 7 month deep freezer test

surely you would want to leave it more then 6 months? the MRE would be fine in 7 months, even in 7 years, without it being frozen, and we have seen many examples of frozen MREs being fine if thawed properly, so unless you freeze it for more then 35 years, this has all been done before Eh, I still l...

Re: MRE Cracker perforations

There is a school of thought that says emergency or "survival food" should be edible, but just barely. The idea being that if something tastes good it will get eaten, but it won't be there in an emergency. I think there is some truth to that. I've a stockpile of "Wheat Snack Bread", which I dislike...

Re: MRE Cracker perforations

Definitely just decorative or for display purposes only. As a dedicated Saltine enthusiast, I always liked the earliest versions based on the C-Rat style. A bit better color and flavor. Later iterations, they aren't much different than cardboard. I thought those orange Cheese-It style crackers were...

Re: Anyone get sick before trying older rations to eat?

Been eating (small amounts) of Korean, MCI rations, WWII candy and so far so good. I've pretty much learned what to avoid as per Steve's videos. Been eating candy, cocoa, coffee, fudge, peanut butter, crackers. Have been wanting to try some jam in an intact can from an MCI but can't find one as of ...

Re: Augason Farms - Yea or Nay?

Has anyone here tried these? https://www.samsclub.com/p/augason-farms-1-week-emergency-kit-supply/prod26140024?xid=plp_product_8 Looking to expand my food storage options. I haven't personally tried them but from what I've heard, the only company that doesn't sell poor tasting stuff for long term f...
