Re: how long could you live from YOUR rations you have?
@ sag45 and scottymonger Do you store all that stuff for just to have it (like we do over here) or is it as you have such devastating hurricanes and tropical storms etc. over there and really may need it? We made some "investments" to become "independent" from public delivery (electricity, water......

Re: how long could you live from YOUR rations you have?
About 6 months, but that's on 2 MRE's a day, as 3 would be too many calories IMHO. In addition, we stock canned goods and freeze dried cans and pouches. In all, we could possibly make it last 1 year. We have a monthly budget set aside for preps, including food, which allows for "dollar cost averagin...

Decent Deal on Ebay
I typically prefer to buy long-term storage MRE's by the case, leaving them untouched for a rainy day. But I also buy individual MRE's, as well as entrees, sides and accesorries for our family's frequent camping trips. I came across a seller who sells MRE's in batches of 6 for a fixed price of $19.9...

Re: 11 MREs and 12 FRHs
I think the lowest price I have paid for 12 FRH's here in the States is about $8, or about 70 cents/per. I'm pretty sure they are availble for a cheaper price per FRH if they are bought in bulk. Still, I think at least monetarily this case is not a "rip of", but if you order 12 MRE's you expect 12 M...

Re: Q: FILLED FRENCH TOAST
Yes, the Bridgford Cinnamon Bun is apparently derived from their sandwich bread.
I just ordered some, and will give then a try soon.
You can get the filled French Toast at The Epicenter. They cost about $1.30 a piece, but you have to order a minimum of 12.

Re: 11 MREs and 12 FRHs
Very Interesting. So, they sacrificed one of the MRE's for the heaters, but packed 12 heaters instead of 11. I'm hoping you do a review of one of these dark browns as I would be interested to see the results. I have avoided buying these older MRE's as the newer ones are readily available o...

Re: What does the average MRE weigh?
Well, the main entrees weigh 8 ounces, and the sides weigh 5 ounces, so you are at 13 ounces for the 2 main items. A wheat bread is 2 ounces, while crackers are just over 1 ounce. Desserts average about 2 ounces. Spreads run from 1 ounce to 1.5 ounces for Peanut Butter. So my guess is that the vario...
