I'm curious, does "soup" actually have another meaning in French/Canadian? Why I ask is because the pudding in British cuisine terminology often seems to refer to a type of sponge cake, for example, and I was curious if the French/Canadian idea of soup is actually something other than what is norma...

Hi,
in fact those soups are not supposed to be a hot meal of any kind (unlike a thick bortsch or potatoes and bacon soup, full ramen noodle soup, etc.), they are just a hot drink for a cold evening
