Re: German EPA chocolate
Nice photo, thanks! One thing I love about this website is the high quality pics you people put here. Unfortunately I am not very skilled at doing pics so most of my posts will not contain them.

Re: Wehrmacht cold casualty remedy
Thanks everyone for replies. Proper nutrition in cold environments has been an issue with armies for a long time and of course the weight of carrying individual rations must also play a part in determining what to put in them for maximum nutritional value versus weight.

Re: Food in AT&T bunkers
I love that website http://coldwar-c4i.net and I did see the pics on there of the greenbriar bunker museum with the cases of MountainHouse food stacked in the tunnel. I'm guessing that MountainHouse is their provider, as it would be ideal for long term use, and sure beats starving! Of course how muc...

Re: German EPA chocolate
Thanks for reply housil, i figured the chocolate was a morale boost as it seems to be in probly every other nation's rations which contain it. As for the diarrhea treatment aspects, I found a very similar effect by consuming MRE peanut butter and crackers during a bout of intestinal bug I contracted...

Re: German EPA chocolate
Thanks very much for reply sir, dark chocolate seems to be a popular item, and German chocolate appears to have a very good reputation for quality (speaking from experience here!)

German EPA chocolate
As I'm not very familiar with german bundeswehr rations, I'm curious if the chocolate bar that is included is a sports/energy type bar or is it a dark chocolate? Many nutritionists argue the benefits of very dark chocolate, pro and con, and I'm just curious what those in charge of developing the EPA...

Re: Wehrmacht cold casualty remedy
thanks norge, it did not make sense to me what this magazine article was discussing but that's what i get for having poor memory and trying to remember details of something i read years ago. of course u made the excellent point that during wartime everything would be in short supply. all i can imagi...

Wehrmacht cold casualty remedy
Not sure if housil or others from europe might have come across this but I recall reading, many years ago, in a SOF-type magazine, that during ww2, the German army in Russia had a rather bizarre way of treating cold weather casualties which involved the feeding of liquified or semi-liquified fats to...

Food in AT&T bunkers
Hello all, I'm glad to be here as I have always been interested in the subject of rations and during my military service I had the "opportunity" if u will, to eat several with good results for the most part, lol! I'm curious if anyone here would know what food systems AT&T used in their series of ha...
