Re: Mountain House MCW entrees only 3yrs???
I tend to store my Freeze-dried meals in a large plastic air tight container and add a load of moisture absorption sachets in and around the packs, I get them from work (Warehouse) But tbh I don't think my packs need to be stored in such a manner as I tend to use them pretty quickly when I go hiking...

Re: 2019 Menu #5 Chicken Chunks
Always liked this one, to me it seems like a mini First strike ration, a grab n go ration with a good mix of components that as you say needs no heating. It always seems to be one that's left on the shelf too or one of the last ones picked on eBay listings which is fine for me as they are usually on...

AFAIK ...

Re: Heating RCIR On Open Flame, Toxic?
Firstly, welcome to the forums  Tbh I'm not sure of the specifics, but I know most cans are heated during production to a certain temp to kill of bacteria as part of the canning process. I'm also not a fan of heating them over a naked flame so I use a mess tin with a bit of water in them and l...

Re: Been waiting a long time....
Ahh you see the reason I've wanted these rations for a longtime and that's the mountain house meals, it's hard to get them here in the UK and as a bit of a dehydrated meals fanatic I've tried a lot over the years. We used to have mountain house meals here but they were different from the US ones, th...

Re: Been waiting a long time....
Oh that's awesome stuff
Yeah I'm a Jetboil fanatic, I've a couple of them now and an MSR reactor, I've just invested in a new Hilleberg soulo BL tent as well so hopefully soon I'll get out on the hills and give them all a try
