Best variation of the kidney bean shaped German mess kit?
I've recently taken an interest in mess kits after ordering a standard USGI mess kit; I noticed that quite a number of countries have adopted the German kidney bean shaped mess kit that shares most of their lineage with the WWII German mess kit. Very old thread here, but how do you go about requesting a recipe from Natick?
There are a number of discontinued ration components that I'd love to get the recipes for.

It was manufactured by Penrith Survival Equipment Ltd, which appears to be out of business or has no online presence, and the ite...

Source for information on US Army clothing?
Aside from what various retailers will tell you, which prompts you to purchase their product; Is there a resource online for things like, the differences between M-1951 and M-1965 pattern clothing, as well as all the variations of things like field pants?

Looking for combo poncho/bivvie tent/sleeping bags
I recently discovered the Multi Purpose Poncho System (MPPS), also known as the Ecotat and Freedom Shelter. Here's an old ebay auction for one, with a hefty price (as is common for these apparently): http://www.ebay.com/itm/USMC-Military-Multi-Purpose-Poncho-System-Survival-034-Go-Bag-034-Shelter-Sh...
