Re: Churchill War Rooms
Very cool photos housil! I'm thinking that anyone with claustrophobia would have had a very hard time but then again the danger of bombs would keep even the most claustrophobic workers at their posts until the rats, insects, and other issues made them say "@#^* it!" and take their chances outside.

Re: Churchill War Rooms
Awesome video housil BTW I could not tell, did you notice anything in the facility that was intended to protect the occupants from poison gas? I know the place was in use long before the technology of pressurized shelters and other modern NBC protection.

I'm just curious
After seeing the various entrees of different countries military rations listed here and other sites, I've always been curious if there might be a link between the spicy-ness of these different rations and the gastro-intestinal health of the troops who consume them. What I mean is how healthy are th...

Re: 2 100% authentic k rats up on ebay!
Not to sound like a wise guy here, but I'm thinking that one surefire way to tell if they are repros would be to consume them----if you're not violently ill within a couple of hours, they're probably repros. Of course that might detract from the whole point of collecting.

Re: 2018 UK ORPs still in boxes
I'm not sure how accurate this is but it seems to make sense: from what I've read and heard, any ration items containing dairy tend to expire first. Seems to be the case with MREs as well.

Re: surplus store MRE cases
Thanks needmorechicken, I was thinking it was kind of steep as well, but thought I'd get some feedback. My only other option for buying at a store would be to drive 2 hours to Hanscom AFB and last time I checked they were only selling individual MREs at the commissary and would not give me a price o...

surplus store MRE cases
I'm curious if this is a good deal; army barracks surplus store is selling cases of MREs with April 2019 inspection/test date $155.00/case. I live close enough to drive there so no need for shipping. Any suggestions please let me know, thanks.

Re: SEVERE diarrhea 2011 Canadian IMP
As a fwiw, I don't recall any off-taste or smell from the Turkey, Diced w/Gravy MRE, which I guess could lead one to conclude that taste and smell are not the most reliable methods for determining if a ration is safe to consume.

Re: SEVERE diarrhea 2011 Canadian IMP
I was wondering if the packaging system/method used by Canada might make illness a higher risk, then I remembered the violent reaction I had to the Turkey, Diced w/Gravy MRE many years ago, and how much better the packaging was. Not sure if the IMP packaging was necessarily an issue in this case wit...

Re: Moist Towelette — Hand Sanitizer — Disinfectant
Then of course there's always this https://www.firstlinetech.com/product/rsdl but with a couple of drawbacks: it sucks for moisturizing skin, and it appears to be highly combustible. Not to mention it's use against biological is rather questionable. Of course it does have one specific use, a...
