There are several places around where I live that are full of cold war history; an Air Force command post bunker that's now a college records s...

I recently watched the movie "Dead Birds" although it took place during the civil war, nothing about it was remotely accurate.

Re: Books, movies, articles
Hey Steph1997 I'm not sure how much interest there is on the subject, but I just finished reading a rather interesting book by Annie Jacobsen called "Phenomena" which details the history of the government's research in ESP and psychokinesis during the cold war, including military applications. Zimmerit was a paste that the German army applied to tanks during WW2 to prevent magnetic anti-tank mines from sticking to the tank. Photos of tanks from then usually show it as a plaster-like coating.

Awesome pic Dave! and let me guess, you bought that weapon at a Walmart in Massachusetts? lol  just kidding! I gotta rail on or laugh at gun laws when I can. actually it looks a bit like what I was issued in Desert Shield----only mine was manufactured in the 1970s and came thoroughly coated ins...

Cool video housil! Just curious, did that panther tank have the zimmerit anti-magnetic mine paste application on the turret? It looks like it has it simulated.

My apologies Flange, I did not mean to imply that your post was in the wrong topic, but that mine was. I sometimes tend to wander with my posts.
