Re: Freeze dried ice cream
You can get them at your local wallyworld. So I´ll look for them this fall when we got into the Smoky Mountains :D housil, I've enjoyed and followed your posts here for years. Where in the Smoky Mountains will you be visiting? I go there about twice a year to hike with my son. That's what...

Re: Q-Deleted On Mailing mre Question?
Hi! I'm pretty sure I asked a question on how does one send mres overseas-by this I was curious to know if folks declare it's camping meals and if they used padded envelopes or cardboard boxes. Somehow my original question seemed to be deleted. Not sure if I asked something that should not be asked...

Re: 2002 Menu 24 Meatloaf with Gravy
I have seen frequent problems with older heaters. The new ones always work. The older ones (meals that are five to twelve years old when I opened them) sometimes take a long time to start heating, but to get hot after maybe ten or so minutes of doing nothing. Some other older ones never get hot at a...

Re: Can MRE Heaters Be Airmailed?
Crunchie, I have successfully shipped sealed MREs (which contain heaters) from the US to Canada. I used UPS Ground due to concerns about mailing the heaters. Outside of the sealed MRE package, I'm not sure if the heaters can be mailed. It would seem that if the heaters are separate, they are more li...

Re: how long could you live from YOUR rations you have?
@ sag45 and scottymonger Do you store all that stuff for just to have it (like we do over here) or is it as you have such devastating hurricanes and tropical storms etc. over there and really may need it? We made some "investments" to become "independent" from public delivery (electricity, water......

Canadian IMP - Menu No. 4 - Indian Chicken Breast
This is the second of the two IMPs I received in a trade with Ntfd_3. The review of the first one, Veal Cutlet / Mushroom Sauce, also appears in this section. My comments about the packaging in the other review holds true here, and I won't repeat it. The meal was very good, but could have been bette...
Re: 2 FRH?
Menu_9_Stew,
That happens, as others have said. An older MRE I had last week came with two spoons. That was much better than coming with no spoons. Mistakes happen, as do unusual substitutions. They are, however, rare.

Canadian IMP - Menu No. 2 - Veal Cutlet / Mushroom Sauce
This was my first IMP, and my first international ration. It was from 2006. I acquired it in a trade with Ntfd_3. It came packed in what looks like a small paper grocery store shopping bag. The bag, while certainly not as water and gas tight as an MRE bag, is stronger than it looks. It's lined insid...

Menu No. 16 - Escalloped Potatoes With Ham - 1996
Today after my morning run, I decided to try one more of the old MREs I have. This one is about 12 1/2 years old, packed in mid to late 1996. I have been intrigued by the description. I wasn't sure what to expect. Would it be a slice of ham with potatoes in a sauce? A bag of diced potatoes with bits...
