Re: Space food on Ebay.

Hmmmm. That wouldn't be hard to fake. I wonder if its real. Velcro dots can be found anywhere. MS word can print bar coded labels. I made some up for a party with foodsaver bags and labels that looked pretty authentic.

Re: GI MRE's on Civilian Market

It seems like the market shifted from the street to the internet. I remember in the late 80's that loose or cased mre's could often be found at gunshows or surplus stores. Now the best place seems to be Ebay. Theres only 2 guys at my local gunshow who usually have mre's and they want $60 a case firm...

Re: Heaters separated on Ebay

I think its a US Postal Service thing verses UPS. I used to see auctions on Ebay stating that they had to be shipped by UPS due to the matches & FRH. I got someone shipping me some cases of aPacks. I think that's why he said he ships them in the original cases turned inside out.

Heaters separated on Ebay

I'm seeing many MRE listings with the statement "Heaters Separated" in the description. Or matches & heaters removed. Apparently the heaters are considered hazardous material per ebay and are not allowed to be sold on Ebay either loose or in with the MRE's. My question is when did the heaters start ...

Re: MREs - not just for humans anymore!

When backpacking with my dog I would take meaty MRE entres to use as dog food. That way if needed, the dog and I could share food.

I think the Lost Ark is in there somewhere. The shear volume of food is amazing. At 3 meals a day I wonder how many days of food for one person is in there? Oh wait MRE's are only intended to be eaten for 1-2 weeks right? I guess it is heaven. :D

Back on topic, I made up some kids meals with wheat snack bread, peanut butter, jelly, dairy shake, paper napkin, plastic knife, handi wipe. I wanted to use the shelf stable roll but kept getting outbid on ebay. Packed it all up in a foodsaver bag and vacuum sealed it.
