re: Meal Kit Supply Order Has Arrived!

As promised, here are some pics from the first meal (Pork Rib) I tried out of my Meal Kit Supply case: (This was a delicious meal...the pork rib had a nice smokey flavor and the mexican rice was spicy. The Wheat Snack Bread was really good and the texture reminded me of the Cinnamon Scone from the M...

re: Word Origin: Mermite

It sounds like an anglicized version of the French word "marmite" (pronounced "mar-mit" as in catcher's "mit") which means "cooking pot". Since I speak fluent French (I'm 3/4 French-Canadian) as my second language, I couldn't help but notice the similarities between the two words ("mermite" vs "marm...

Re: Hooked on MREs!

Yes, Topside, I am Canadian (I live in Southeast New Brunswick, but I'm originally from Québec). I bought my MREs from an American company called "MRE Depot." With shipping, UPS Brokerage Fees and import taxes, it cost me $178.58 CDN (Ouch!). But as KMan mentioned in his review, the Menu Cs are inde...

Hooked on MREs!!

Well, it's official: I am now hooked on MREs. This morning, I had a Menu #10 (Meatballs in Marinara) for breakfast and later, being low on groceries and not knowing what to make for dinner, I opened up a Menu #12 (Cheese Tortellini). My breakfast was so filling, I had to save the cinnamon scone and ...

There are a couple of pics missing from the "Chicken With Dumplings: Meal: the oatmeal cookies ( I ate them before I thought of taking a picture) and the pack of Skittles candy (also eaten :D ). I should mention the Chicken and dumplings entree was delicious! Yum! Although I couldn't identify the se...

My Menu Cs Have Finally Arrived!

Well, I finally received my Menu Cs today and they arrived in good condition. At first, I thought they might be frozen since the box was quite cold (it was -5C this morning, whch works out to 23F) but they were all OK. For my first taste test, I tried Menu #9, "Beef Enchiladas", for lunch. The enchi...
