Re: My first UK Multi Climate Ration Pack
Having had to live on these things I feel qualified to post! The box you have there is slightly different from the ones we have out in theatre - you dont get a beans based breakfast and a muesli its one or the other. I personally love and hate them. I hate the fact that so many calories are in the n...

Re: Strange 'British' Ration?
Its the latest British rations. They have started to be issued on exercises as well as ops now. Different menu's, different boxes, "Feeding the Forces" and menu's are on a card inside the box.

2004
Its just rotation. The 2004 packs are being released as they are about to run out of shelf-life. All the ones we get are mostly 2004 at the moment.

Pack n Go
They are Pack n Go dehydrated meals. Very nice. They are in the P ration menus you'll find on the back of the 24 Hour box. You can buy them commercially - I like them. EDIT: Sorry, that looks like a Pack'n'Go ration pack. The actual main meal and pudding is what is in the Patrol (P) ration. Not the ...

Wayfarer
Wayfarer food pouches are exactly the same as the MoD ones as far as I am aware. So if you look them up I believe they have ingredient lists. Although don't hold me responsible when you have to go to hospital! The new rations have the ingredients on them, they have scary names like "MOD Chicken Saus...

I've never eaten an out of date MRE so I have no idea and I've never seen any British rations. I only asked because I'm working on some scale representations of British Rations and at the larger scale the actual text maybe visible. http://flashpages.prodigy.net/ptruhe/armormod/Warrior/rations2.jpg ...

You'll be fine...
Those are simply packs that are being rotated from storage to training or operational troops. I ate an April 2003 pack the other weekend on exercise and they are fine. If you're lucky they'll have a Yorkie in them. Cheese spread isn't put in them anymore as it didn't last. If you ever buy an old ORP...

ORP
Hi, as far as I know the date at the side of the box is the production date. The main entrees can be eaten up to 10 years after the production date. (I tested it myself), but other items as soup, beverage powder and side dishes will taste bad after 6 or 7 years. I have consumed several rations that...
