I have a few brown bags, but I'm pretty hesitant to try them. They were new when I was still in ROTC and briefly the CA ARNG!

Re: 2015 Aussie CR1M Meal E
This week I have been eating the second ration. The condition is basically the same as the first one. The ruptured fruit cocktail was obviously tossed. The chocolate bar was VERY bloomed and this time I didn't eat it anyway. The fruit cake MIGHT have been bad/spoiled, or it might just have been terr...

Latvian ration 4 years past Best By date
Continuing my plan to eat through some of my older but still recent rations, today I sliced into a Latvian NR1 ration with a Best By date of 11/30/2018. I don't see an actual pack date on it, but I think they are only 2 or 3 years from pack to bb. https://www.teddydog.org/rations/latvia_nr1_bag.jpg ...

2015 TOTM Beef Ravioli with Meat Sauce tasting
I have quite a few rations that are getting to be a few years past their "best by" dates, so I'm going to try to eat one a week until I am sick of them, get sick, or run out of older ones. The TOTM is as US ration used generally for meals other than "in the field". The Tailored Operational Training ...

@ancienttyrael
Thanks for posting that info. I had seen mention of it and was considering purchasing the set. Have you tried it yet? What do you think of the quality? Happy with your purchase still? Thanks!

Re: looking for a FSR 2015
Glad you found what you were looking for. I have about 22 FSRs, including one full case and all are either 2017 or 2019 pack date. Nothing else, for some reason. I guess the 2015 you were looking for is a different generation from the current ones? Other than size/shape, what is different or unique ...

Re: 2015 Aussie CR1M Meal E
I cleaned up the second ration and it looks like the can of fruit mix was the primary casualty. I cleaned everything up, dried it and put it all into the bag from the one I consumed. I notice the grape beverage was in similar shape to the first one--that is, it was no longer a loose powder. I found ...

Dating HDR individual meals
Without the benefit of the case packaging, is there a a way to narrow down the decade of an HDR? I understand that they changed to the "salmon" color bag in Nov 2002, but that still leaves quite a few ambiguous year codes. I have had 2 for a couple of years and they are coded "0142" and "0146". Bein...

Re: 2015 Aussie CR1M Meal E
Ugh. I just looked at my second CR1M from the same packing date. It has a can of fruit cocktail in it that started leaking! I don't recall there being one in the ration I just finished, but maybe I threw it out a while back when I first examined it. I'm gonna need to open it up and clean that out. H...
