Re: Menu No. 10 2007 (7200): TUNA

I think this is an older vintage than the current menu. The one that got me was the fat free mayo, yuck ! What is that stuff ? I made a couple of fish taco's and I have to admit, they were pretty good, considering. But yeah, this one leaves some things to be desired. No FRH because it's not intended...

About the Crescent

I recall reading a forum discussion regarding the crescent we see on all our MRE cases. What's if for ? Why is it there ? Just by chance I was reading through a magazine on military history called "armchair general" and there was a sub article on the history of the crescent ! So here it is. crescent...

The maple pork patty made me ill. Not like violently ill, just feeling badly in the guts for a few days.

Looks pretty good. Kind of reminds me of the Asian Beef thingy, which was also very good.

I have one of these patties in the pantry now, I hesitate to eat it after the maple pork patty fiasco.

Re: Menu #21 - Tuna, Chunk Light

I ate this one about 2 weeks ago, it had tortillas and something called "fat free mayonnaise" which was downright horrible to see and contemplate what it could be. I dumped the tuna, FFM and the cheese spread, (plain one) into a tortilla and wolfed it down. @ of them in fact. I have to say, pretty g...

Re: Just had my first MRE

So it happened, i took a trip to the army surplus and purchased a US MRE. I was quite excited to try it. The menu I purchased was menu 11 Vegetable Crumbles With Pasta in Taco Style Sauce. I opened it up and was pretty excited to begin trying it out. First I diddled around with the heater to get th...

Re: Emmy Does Rations

She's fun. I like her. One big difference I notice is that her reviews are of her eating the rations. Meaning the camera is facing her and vice versa. Almost all of the male reviewers go for the opposite, where the camera is in the approximate position and facing of the face or eyes, away from the r...

Re: 2007 Pork Rib age test

I like the quantitative nature of the FRH experiment. Interesting, repeatable results ?

I think you'd need to do a test with 2 FRH's of the same approximate vintage, one with salt and one without. But, maybe I'm overthinking it.
