Re: Epicenter.com

They are good to go. I've ordered from them by mail and I've also been to their office to pick up MRE's in person. Nice people and they will stand behind what they sell.

But the shipping is $35 to my zip code so that puts it at $75, which is about average from what I've been seeing on ebay.

I wouldn't do it. I suspect that most of the people at the baby shower will probably be unfamiliar with MRE's and the humor will be lost on them. Someone is bound to get mad.

Hi SoFlo, I agree regarding the taste of MRE's vs. freeze dried. I much prefer the MRE and so does my 8 and 11 year old daughters. I have been thinking about the Mountain House #10 cans for long-term storage, however. Right now I have about 8 cases of MRE's for any immediate and short term needs. I'...

Menu C availability

Does anyone know the long term plans for the Menu C MRE's? There's a notice on the mredepot.com website that discounts are no longer available due to tightening demand and lowering supply. As I recall these were a custom order from the manufacturer. I'm wondering if we've seen the last of these or i...

Preparedness website advising against MRE's

I found this on www.survivalacres.com. They sell freeze dried food and dehyrdated food. This is what they have to say about MRE's: MRE's eaten over a period of time will make you quite sick. They high in fats and low in fiber and have "something" in them to keep your from having regular bowl movemen...

If he impacted somewhere in a ravine or near a mountainous river like they suspect, I doubt anyone would find anything. This is pretty much wilderness area with plenty of places that hiker and hunters would never traverse due to the steep and dangerous terrain. I think it's more likely that if he li...

What is your favorite brand of civilian MRE?

I'm curious what you all think about the civilian brand MRE's. Which brand is your favorite and why? I've tried Sopakco, MRE Star, and aPack. I think Sopakco is closest to the military issue MRE but I also really like the aPack product due to the inclusion of the salt water to activate the heater. M...

The parachute was found by kids a couple of weeks after the FBI agent in charge of the case did a media blitz trying to revive the story so as to generate new leads. What a coincidence. What really gave this story some credibility is that it was found in an area that the FBI had previously determine...
