Re: Vegetable & Cheese Vomilet

I save the Vomelet and CCC meals for use in case of disaster. Best two meals to "share" with those who failed to prepare.....Vomelet and CCC entrees (I strip my MREs of the contents I want to keep)...this almost guarantees they will seek another source of sharing-leaving me to eat in peace.

Those are interesting photos of the Ameriqual product, Steve. Thanks for sharing them! Is that a case of what they're calling "aPacks" or just a case of emergency meals that they've been selling? I have it on good authority AQ sold everything they had in stock to Louisiana. You can't blame them for...

very nice review. i definitely prefer the military rations over the commercial ones. i do like the apacks though. Back when my preparedness guide was published (2006), I had the opportunity to meet with reps from the Big 3. (Ameri-qual, Wornick, Sopacko)..... A-PACK is (IMHO), thee civilian product...

Thanks for the review....it's a bit strange they'd toss Bar-B-Cue sauce in that meal....and leave crackers out after putting cheese in as well...sounds like they were stripping the warehouse of extras when they packed the meal. Was this 06 production food as well? I almost added a case of Menu Cs to...

Not what I'd expect either....if the case says 08 production I'd want "fresh" eats, not stuff that's been 2 years on the shelf and put in the box in 08.

I have a couple cases as well......and I think I saw some with 2009 inspection dates on Ebay....those would be 06 packed.

I think part of what SoFloAuthor was trying to say is that those survival bars are intended to be enough food to survive on as your sole source of nutrition. But he was just warning that even though they may serve that purpose, you won't enjoy the experience. EMan, my apologies if you felt put off ...

Hi Kman...the Flood Bag is so new that pricing to the U.S.A. is tentative. I will be speaking with them 6/9/08.......I've heard wholesale pricing on the small one is around $1400USD (NASA technology is not cheap) The Self-Heating Redi Wash does not have a site yet....retail on those is just under $5...

NEW PREPAREDNESS PRODUCTS

Here's a couple of NEW preparedness products I've found while attending the recent hurricane conferences in Florida this year. MFC Survival Flood Bag - NASA technology comes back to earth! 4 sizes, the largest will house an SUV! Bags work on the principle of a divers dry suit. Simply pack the items ...
